Aggression Pro’s
People who don’t like to bet are quick to find fault with aggression. Among their complaints are the increase in poker online chips at risk and the fact that by betting, you tell your casino online opponents that you have a good hand. Granted, you do put chips at risk, but you can only win by having money in the pot. As far as telling your opponents your poker hand, there’s definitely a tradeoff there. First of all, when you place a bet, you are only telling your opponents what you want them to think you have. If you have already established yourself as a crafty player, placing a bet will only serve to confuse your opponents. They may put you on a good hand, but their experience playing against you should also have them worried about a bluffing attempt. This means that they could put you on quad Aces, an 8-2 offsuit, or anywhere in between whenever you raise. Secondly, when you raise, your opponents’ reactions will help clue you in on what hands they’re holding. Most likely, anyone who’s got a weak hand will fold, leaving the confident players in the hand, so you know that whoever is left playing has a decent hand.
